Anyone know much about this motorcycle brand?

I am looking to buy some “toys” for me and my family to tinker around on this summer. I was told about a line of motor vehicles called American Lifan. I wanted to get a couple of scooters, ATV’s and mini choppers. Is this company reputable? Anyone ever heard of them?

Please give me any info you have on these products.

As stated, they’re a Chinese based company. They have been around for a number of years and don’t have a Great reputation, but that’s the exact same start the Japanese companies had. It’s worth investigating further as far as I’m concerned. There are a couple of different forums that cater to both Lifan and the Chinese motor vehicles, this was the first that Google spit out:

Most of the engines are direct clones from the Japanese companies, often made in the exact same factories as the Japanese motors. The issues are the overall reliability, parts availability, and general support. If you’re going to rely on someone else to take care of them when something goes wrong, make sure that you have the support locally. That goes for ANY brand. If you’re capable of doing all the work yourself (valve adjustments, replacing bent/broken/damaged pieces on the frame/suspension, etc…) ~ then just make sure you know where to get those parts online.

I wouldn’t run away, but it’d take a lot of research to see if those products were worth the cost. Sometimes low price is only Part of the cost, the rest of it is taken out of your time dealing with products that are nothing but headaches (lol… I feel that way about Dodge trucks/vans).

Good luck

Lifan Mini
